Thank you Lady!!!!!
Do have questions tho, what do you or any others you know take for pain?
It's real bad today, i think cuz there's a hurricane just a couple hundred miles off the coast. The barometric pressure is high and the rain is falling and it's chilly....just wondering Love Penguin

I take an over the counter med called "Spasmed" which helps for the pain and associated tension. I also take Trepyline at night (to achieve stage 4 sleep) and prohexal during the day to help with daytime symptoms.
Barometric pressure also messes with my FMS - bigtime. Any coming bad weather and I'm as sore as heck. Can usually foretell the weather a day or so in advance.
Luckily summer here now, so a bit better.

Welcome penguin!!! Very nice to have you.
First let me say I am sorry you all are having Fibr flare ups. I feel for you so soft hugs to you all.
As for pain I know Panther take Flexeril, Utram, and Darvon for Pain. She takes Cymbalta (an anti-depressant) because it has shown to decrease symtoms of pain. She takes amatriptaline for sleep. And she has had custom inserts made for her feet that have helped. I have heard that Seroquel has been shown to make dramatic changes in Fibromyalgia too (but I believe this has to do with body chemistry...what works for one person doesn't for another). So that is some of what Panther is taking. But let me say if you get Ultram for pain get the brand kind as the generic actually is not the same as the brand (this is the ONLY medicine I know of where the generic is not the same).
So many weather conditions affect one. especally those cold bitter winters. But hang in there and I'll be thinking of you and hoping that your flare is getting more bearable.
Love to you, ~R

thank you both so much for making me feel so welcomed! I guess I will have to take my pain meds when the flare ups happen and try not to be a martyr and try to deal with it. I'm currently on .5 mg of Requip for RLS and I do have some type of generic pain med. I can't even remember the name I take it so infrequently. I am also on Wellbutrin. Says that it's supposed to help with Fibro. I had a staff meeting today and had to sit for two hours and do you think I could get up outta that chair? AND I'm the youngest one in the office!!!! Thanks again for the welcome and I hope we can all help each other out cuz a lot of times, i think we're all we have. Love Penguin

Been thinking about you a lot the last couple of days.
I also learned the hard way that it just doesn't pay to be a "hero" all the time.
I've just spent the most of the morning sitting - although my butt is numb the rest of me is stiff and sore ... time to walk around a bit (but not always convenient or possible).
Keep in touch hun !
Take care,
LRH
